Steeleye Tour Spring '26

Touring live sound engineer for heritage folk rockers Steeleye Span

In the Spring of 2026 I packed my Peli and headed out on the road for a month with heritage folk rockers Steeleye Span, marking the release of the 'Conflict' album with a full energy string of 20 shows all around the UK.

Starting up in Hexham, Northumberland (a favourite place of mine for moorland nature recording!) we zig-zagged from north to south, taking in theatres, town halls and corn exchange style venues until ending right down on the south coast for the final gig in Portsmouth.

We carried PA, monitors and backline, but often tied into venue PA systems when they were up to spec (which many thankfully were!). I mixed the shows from a very compact and trusty A&H SQ5 desk, enjoying the challenge of a new venue each day to craft and shape the band's signature sound, which is characterised by full band vocal harmonies, solid folk/prog rock riffs and some pretty epic fiddle solos; of course all headed up by legendary English folk singer Maddy Prior.

Big shout out to Jackie (TM) and Jamie (A2/road crew), for holding it down on a day to day and running a tight ship! :)

Maddy Prior - vocals
Julian Litman - guitars, keys, vocals
